Aisling

Set on five acres on the edge of the village of Robertson, Aisling is a contemporary country homestead designed as a long-term family home for three generations, shaped by landscape, light and the rhythms of gathering.

Responding to the clients’ desire for a home that could bring extended family together while remaining calm in everyday life, the house is arranged as a series of three connected gable-roofed pavilions. A central kitchen, living and dining space forms the heart of the home, flanked by private family and guest wings that can open up or close down as needed.

Courtyards draw garden and light deep into the plan, while a restrained palette of timber and stone lends warmth, durability and a sense of permanence, allowing the home to settle quietly into its landscape and evolve with the family over time.
